good bye atsutoshi!

our japanese friend tosh left early this morning. last night we had a banquet thing at BYU. it was good food but the program was long and i felt so sick so i ended up finding a couch in a bathroom and sleeping on it. today i am not at school because my mom wants me to get better.
here are some pictures of things that "we" did with tosh. i am not in most of these pictures because i wasn't there. the pictures with all the preteens and human pyramids is a group of kids who all played nightgames on friday night. i was on my "date". i was there when we took him to cabella's on saturday. that was fun. on sunday morning, my family took him up into the canyon to look at leaves and stuff and i stayed home and slept, and then sunday night they carved pumpkins while i was asleep. then i was physically there at the banquet last night.
it was very fun to have a japanese foreign exchange student. it wasn't nearly as hard as i thought it would be and the week flew by. i wish i'd been able to get to know him a little better. i was gone alot and then asleep the past few days he was here. plus, i don't think he has alot of experience being around girls his age so he was pretty scared of cammie and i. :) poor kid. i hope that the rest of his trip is great and that he has good memories of our family!
here are the pictures.

i know i look super nasty. i felt about how i looked.

a hypnotist show, the ACT and a fever

on friday night i went on a friend date with my buddies jared and glen and this girl alicia. we went to dinner and to a hypnotist show. it was really really fun! my "date" was jared, but he and i are basically just best friends so it was a blast. the show was HILARIOUS! i'm not really sure what the policy on hypnotist shows are but it really was one of the funniest things i've ever seen. there is another one the day after thanksgiving--pie day for my family--and maybe we should all go.
saturday morning i took the ACT. it started at about 7:30am and i got home at 12:45pm. it was really long. i won't find out what i got on it for 5-8 weeks. i hope i did well! i didn't study or do anything to prepare so i know that this will be my lowest score of all the times i take it.
yesterday was also one of my best friend's birthdays! happy birthday amanda! the evening a bunch of us went over to her house and had cake and watched the Hulk. i fell asleep like 20 minutes into the movie and when it was over i couldn't wake up. my friends were trying for about 10 minutes and i finally came around long enough to get to my car and my friend tiffany drove me home. thanks tiff! i slept hard core until 12:15 today, 45 min before church. i felt nasty at church. mom felt my head and diagnosed me with a fever. i came home from church and slept for 4 hours. i'm feeling a bit better now. :P
sorry i don't have any pictures!

fall break

this year's fall break was nothing exciting. on thursday i went to work and then cleaned my house hard core. that night a few of my girl friends and i watched Sydney White and Phantom of the Opera.

on friday those same girl friends and i drove 2 hours down to fillmore to hang out with some of our guy friends who were staying down there. i know, what is there to do in fillmore? we went shooting for a little bit and then hung out in the hotsprings for a couple of hours. then we got some pizza for dinner and chilled at their hotel on the deck. then we drove home. it was fun--mainly for the fact that we got to drive down there by ourselves etc.
saturday, sunday and monday i stayed at this family's house in my ward and babysat their kids while the parents were in california. it was hard. it taught me that i am much to young to be a mommy (not that i want to be a mommy at the moment) and gave me knew respect and outlook on being a mom.
something else of note is that my family has a foreign exchange student from japan right now. we got him yesterday. his name is asutoshi or something like that. i'm not sure how to say it. he doesn't speak any english but he is a cute kid. he's 14. he's staying until next tuesday. here is a picture of when we picked him up.

Sadie Hawkins Dance

last saturday was sadies! it was really fun. i went with my friend matt jensen. he's a hilarious kid! we went in a group of 5 couples. we did a picture scavenger hunt so i don't have any pictures of the other couples. when i figure out how to scan my photos in the computer i will scan the professional pictures we got at the dance. it was way fun! these pictures are just from the scavenger hunt. we had to do a bunch of random stuff.

General Conference

i love conference SO MUCH! this one was so good. oh my. i love the prophet Thomas S. Monson and his counselors Henry B. Eyering and Deiter F. Uchkdorf.

i loved the saturday afternoon session so much. i didn't take notes on saturday morning and i wish i had, but i took tons of notes on the afternoon. i especially loved Jeffrey R. Holland's talk about angels. wow! how powerful!

but my absoulute favorite talk on saturday afternoon would have to be David A. Bednar's talk about how to make prayer more meaningful. we had to pause his talk so many times so that we could write down amazing stuff that he said.

of course i loved all of the talks given today, and i even stayed awake the whole entire time (a first for me) but those two on saturday afternoon REALLY just blew me away. i love this gospel so much. i'm so grateful for the prophet and i know that he is called of God. i know that we recieve revelation today through the prophet, through reading the scriptures, and sometimes it comes when we are least expecting it. i know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and that without him there is no way that i could have eternal life. i'm so grateful for what he did for me. i'm so grateful for the sacrifices that Joseph Smith made in order to bring about this great and marvelous work. i love missionary work so much and i know that through it we are all blessed. i'm so excited for my best friend jared to serve in the Harrisburg Pennsylvania mission starting in december. i love conference and i'm so glad that we have it and that we can be spiritually edified through the words of the Lord. i say these things in Jesus' name amen.
