hiking the G

our hike to the G for mutual was quite enjoyable in my opinion. there were alot of people around me who were unprepared for how steep it was, so there was a bit of complaining, but i've hiked it before and knew what to expect. it was PERFECT weather for a hike and i had a great time. i also took some fabulous pictures:

the day was really so perfect and pretty

last week of school

sorry, no pictures, due to the fact that there was a yogurt explosion on choir tour that resulted in the demise of my camera. i'm still in the process of getting a new one!
monday was memorial day so no school. i saw night at the museum 2 with my family and had a BBQ. i liked the movie alot. i thought it was cute and i really liked Amelia Earheart's hairstyle. ohmyheck it was cute.
tuesday was the most pointless day of my life. we went to all eight classes, but it was stupid because only some teachers took roll, and some didn't, so i went until 10, then left for a while, went back at 12:45 and left again at 1. ridiculous. that night i had a sleepover at my friend lisa's house with a bunch of my fabulous girl friends. it was so fun.
wed. was yearbook day so we went to school and signed yearbooks and all that fun stuff. i can't say that i felt any remorse or sadness at saying goodbye to some of these people--because i just didn't. mostly i'm just glad to be done. in the afternoon we did a bunch of random things: we went to discovery park for a teeny bit where i saw Sarah and Jade and Allie. that was way fun. then we got snowcones, then we went to Elissa's and sat and roasted on her tramp for a while. it was a very lazy day. i did my last ever piano lesson that afternoon because i'm not doing piano anymore. that was sad. in the evening i watched new in town with some friends.
today i ate breakfast at Sara's house and had AMAZING pumpkin waffles. oh my. they were SO good. i have never had a better waffle in my life. oh yummy. we just played up at Sara's for a while and then Elissa and i went off to our seminary council meeting at 10. this meeting lasted for FOUR hours. it was amazing. we picked the theme for seminary next year. so we spent alot of time discussing scriptures, and praying and pondering and debating. it was so cool. we finally decided that Helaman 5:12 needs to be our theme for seminary. the main point of that is that we need to build our foundation on Christ and then no matter what storms satan throws at us, we will never fall. it's a really powerful scripture and it was a great experience.
some things i am looking forward to in the near future:
we are hiking the G for mutual tonight to help prepare us for trek.
my wonderful aunt Janice is coming next week and she will be here for a month! i am SO excited to see you again Janni!
girls camp is in just a few short weeks.
i'm taking 2 classes online (which is not something that i am looking forward to necessarily...)
i already cannot wait until our next seminary council meeting!
summer seminary starts next week which i LOVE!
hopefully buying a new digital camera so i can record my summer.
ummm, i've got nothing left to say so,
THE END

final concert

Last night was my last concert of my junior year. it was a really fun concert. i got to accompany a 15 min les miserable medley which was a total party. after we sang out chamber songs, we suprised our director by performing a song for him that we wrote. it was really pretty, and touching. after the concert was over, there was an awards ceremony. it turns out that i got an award! it was for outstanding junior. the choir council for next year was also announced and i found out that i got elected as president of the choir council. that was pretty exciting! next year is really shaping up to be majorly busy. it'll be good though.
here are a few pics:

oh wow, i didn't realize just how ugly all of the pictures were. ugh. oh well. we'll live.

life...

is crazy. it sure keeps me on my toes. thursday i went to the doctor mostly for my sanitiy's sake i think. i had a little chat with the doctor and then she sent me to get some BLOOD tests! if you know me, you know how badly i handle blood, needles, and things like that. anyway, having to get my blood taken may have been one of the scariest things i have ever done. she did the thing with the needle in my arm and i had to squeeze my hand while she took four vials of my blood. it felt like it took an ETERNITY! and from the second i felt the needle go in my arm i was concentrating very hard on not passing out. you can imagine the triumph i felt when i didn't faint! that is an incredible accomplishment let me tell you. we are still waiting for the test results. i'm getting tested for mono, thyroid problems or enemia.
busy week to come! lots of seminary council things planned this week, some top secret choir rehearsals (shhh!) plus there's mucho alot of work the i need to go work on, along with lots of math homework. this is the one and only class that i have that things are still going on. there's a math final closer towards the end of school that covers EVERYTHING we have learned this year. not looking forward to it. then friday-saturday is another chamber retreat and saturday is morp. lots going on!

counciling

a couple of weeks ago a member of my stake high council called me to be on the seminary council for next year. it's an amazing opportunity! it's an actual calling; i got set apart the following sunday. there are two people from each stake called--a boy and a girl. we get to plan things like the new seminary theme, seminary activities, morningsides etc. we also get to make a bunch of movies to introduce different aspects of seminary like summer seminary, scripture reading, etc. the first meeting was yesterday during lunch. we had another unofficial meeting today to figure out what we are going to do for our first video. it has to be all filmed by the 19th.
anyway, i'm very excited to be on seminary council. it's SO good to put on applications, and the blessings promised are definetly awesome.
i also found out yesterday that i was nominated for president of the choir council for next year. this would be really fun and also really good to put on applications. there are two nominees so i will find out if i get it at our last concert. if i don't get elected president, i'll get to be put on another position on choir council.
my senior year is shaping up to be a very busy one. a few things i'm "looking forward to" next year:
1. seminary council
2. choir council
3. AP calculus, AP music and AP english
4. working part time
5. choir in general keeps me very busy
6. all other aspects of life that are required.
ok i really thought that that list was going to be way more impressive than it turned out to be. ah well. you get the idea. :)

about the swine flu...

all this talk about the swine flu has REALLY been freaking me out. i've been feeling a bit under the weather all week, plus i was just in mexico...
yesterday i had a mini-breakdown in math. i was practially convinced that i had the swine flu and i was spreading it to my whole school and we would have to cancel prom (not that i'm GOING or anything) just like park city did and it would be all my fault. so i came home during math (thank you ms. smithson for letting me leave!) and slept for 5 hours then watched t.v. for 3 hours and went back to bed.
i don't have the swine flu. for one thing, i don't have any sort of a fever, my throat doesn't hurt except for when i think it does, my body doesn't ache unless i think it does, my head has been hurting, that's legit. i'm really tired but that could be because all i've done for the last 24 hours is sleep. plus, i was in mexico over two weeks ago, and i would have showed symptoms alot sooner and according to my mom, the places in mexico that we were are very far away from mexico city where it originates.
my mom thinks i have mono and if i don't feel "better" by monday we are going to the doctor.
i feel guilty because she wouldn't let me go to school today so i could get "better" but quite honestly, i don't really feel that sick anymore.
i think maybe i just had hypochondria or something.
oh well, might as well make the best of being at home on a school day!
