i AM alive

i know you must all be thinking where has amberly disappered to? we miss her!:P i just have had nothing at all noteworthy to put on this blog. february is a crappy month. thankfully it is basically over! in a week and a half i am leaving for DISNEYLAND for choir tour and i am so excited! its going to be such a fun trip and probably exactly what i need to jump out of the winter blues! i'll post more when i actually have something to say. :) peace.

WARNING!

in approximatly 3-5 years, there is a chance that i will be getting MARRIED. not sure who yet, but still. i'm quickly approaching that time in my life where i will no longer be amberly hurst. why am i randomly saying this? well, i will be getting married in the temple and i really want everyone that i love to be able to be there with me. so i thought i would give some advance warning so that you can all continue to strive to go to the temple. :)

singing valentines

in my chamber choir, we get to do this thing around valentines day called valegrams. its a fundraiser to help us pay for choir tour. basically, we have people buy them from us and then we fill out this paper and then we go to the person's class who got a valegram sent to them and sing to them. we sing really cute, short, valentiny love songs that are fabulous. there's lots of flirting and snapping and dancing and singing involved. its great fun. we've been selling the valegrams since last week and today we started delivering them. 1st period we have chamber choir so we just went to the classes and delivered them all of that period, and most people in chamber have acapella 2d period so we also did it then too. for those who are in advanced womens and not acapella like me, we got excused from 2d period.
why am i telling you this? well, there's a story involved;
my cute little sister cammie is a freshman this year and is coming to the high school next year. so today, all the freshman came up to the high school for an assembly. while we were out and about in 1st period singing our little hearts out, our vice principal mr weisher heard us and asked us if we would come sing at the assembly. i got really excited and told them that we had to sing to my sister! so after we delivered all of our valegrams, we went into the gym where all the freshman were for the assembly. cammie spotted me from where she was sitting and got all excited to see me. we chilled in there for a while until mr weisher announced that the chamber choir would be singing some songs. some of the boys had been assigned to go grab some girls from the audience, and i ordered my friend anthony to grab cammie. so he did and she was really mad at me. :) and we sang the song and all of the choir boys were being all flirty with my sister and pulling on her scarf and stuff. it was awesome! afterward, she punched me in the stomach and said "i hate you!" but trust me. she loved it. she was having a blast, don't let her fool ya. :) it was great fun. i love my sister cammie!

saturday night

i always knew that i look like a fool when i dance, but i never really comprehended just how much of a fool i look until janna took these pictures of me dancing in my living room while my guy friends were in the basement terrorizing my cat. it was an...interesting night you could say. we all seemed to revisit kidhood. after playing at my house. we went to a playground at an elementary school and played tag for a long time. we really are so childlike sometimes!




oh, and i know that my hair looks like poop. it needs to be cut. and it wouldn't style because i had it in a ponytail earlier while i took the ACT and i was too lazy to shower. :P

vikings defeated, and ACT round 2

last night was the epic battle of PG vikings versus LP knights boys varsity basketball. although for most of the game it looked as though we mighty vikings would be victorious, unfortunatly the knights prevailed and dashed our hopes of finally beating our fiercest rivals. the score was 56-64 or somewhere thereabouts.
to console ourselves, 8 of my girlfriends and i went to JCW's for some delcious (and comforting) burgers, fries, shakes and pepper water.
this morning i took the ACT for the second time. again, i didn't study, again, i went to bed later than i should have and again, i was not as prepared as a could have been. i predict a score very close to what i got in october. hopefully it's not lower than my 28 or that would be embarassing.

best week ever!

so yesterday was a professional development day so we had no school. today through thursday is UBSCT testing for the sophmores. its pretty much a basic skills competency test. you have to pass it to be able to graduate. i took it last year. the great thing about it is that if you passed it as a sophmore you don't have to go to school on UBSCT days until 9:40! so its 8:15 and i'm not as school yet! and i don't have to leave for another hour. for the next 3 days. you could call this my own personal heaven!
