fall break

this year's fall break was nothing exciting. on thursday i went to work and then cleaned my house hard core. that night a few of my girl friends and i watched Sydney White and Phantom of the Opera.

on friday those same girl friends and i drove 2 hours down to fillmore to hang out with some of our guy friends who were staying down there. i know, what is there to do in fillmore? we went shooting for a little bit and then hung out in the hotsprings for a couple of hours. then we got some pizza for dinner and chilled at their hotel on the deck. then we drove home. it was fun--mainly for the fact that we got to drive down there by ourselves etc.
saturday, sunday and monday i stayed at this family's house in my ward and babysat their kids while the parents were in california. it was hard. it taught me that i am much to young to be a mommy (not that i want to be a mommy at the moment) and gave me knew respect and outlook on being a mom.
something else of note is that my family has a foreign exchange student from japan right now. we got him yesterday. his name is asutoshi or something like that. i'm not sure how to say it. he doesn't speak any english but he is a cute kid. he's 14. he's staying until next tuesday. here is a picture of when we picked him up.

Sadie Hawkins Dance

last saturday was sadies! it was really fun. i went with my friend matt jensen. he's a hilarious kid! we went in a group of 5 couples. we did a picture scavenger hunt so i don't have any pictures of the other couples. when i figure out how to scan my photos in the computer i will scan the professional pictures we got at the dance. it was way fun! these pictures are just from the scavenger hunt. we had to do a bunch of random stuff.

General Conference

i love conference SO MUCH! this one was so good. oh my. i love the prophet Thomas S. Monson and his counselors Henry B. Eyering and Deiter F. Uchkdorf.

i loved the saturday afternoon session so much. i didn't take notes on saturday morning and i wish i had, but i took tons of notes on the afternoon. i especially loved Jeffrey R. Holland's talk about angels. wow! how powerful!

but my absoulute favorite talk on saturday afternoon would have to be David A. Bednar's talk about how to make prayer more meaningful. we had to pause his talk so many times so that we could write down amazing stuff that he said.

of course i loved all of the talks given today, and i even stayed awake the whole entire time (a first for me) but those two on saturday afternoon REALLY just blew me away. i love this gospel so much. i'm so grateful for the prophet and i know that he is called of God. i know that we recieve revelation today through the prophet, through reading the scriptures, and sometimes it comes when we are least expecting it. i know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and that without him there is no way that i could have eternal life. i'm so grateful for what he did for me. i'm so grateful for the sacrifices that Joseph Smith made in order to bring about this great and marvelous work. i love missionary work so much and i know that through it we are all blessed. i'm so excited for my best friend jared to serve in the Harrisburg Pennsylvania mission starting in december. i love conference and i'm so glad that we have it and that we can be spiritually edified through the words of the Lord. i say these things in Jesus' name amen.

chamber retreat

this weekend i got to go to a chamber retreat with my choir. we played alot of games and lauged hysterically and i walked into a tree and almost broke it. we rehearsed for hours and hours and ate great food and stayed up really late and then rehearsed some more and ate some more and cleaned and went home. it was such a blast. there are some hilarious people that i got to know. here is a video of a couple of the guys singing a song improv...
that's what i love about going on a trip with choir. even when you are not rehearsing you just sing for fun. it was a great weekend!

an update on life

this is a song that my choir is singing called flanders field. i love it so much. especially after it does the "we are the dead" stuff. oooo. its so good. this isn't my choir singing just a video on youtube. btw i am a first soprano so the super high part is what i am singing. blah. anyway, just thought i would share that. i love choir so much!
last weekend i spent in idaho with my family on my mom's side. i loved it so much. i had so much fun! i got a hair cut and saw my cute birthday buddy cousin nathan get baptized. it was SO GREAT to spend time with all of them! i love my family so much. i'm excited to spend the weekend in 2 weeks at our family reunion.
other than spending time with family and school, i haven't done much. this weekend was fun. i had a sleepover with some friends in our little treehouse/fort that my dad built. last night i went to my friend whitney's sweet 16. good times!
