memories!

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

a whole lot of nothing

the past couple of weeks have been very fun. i've just been busy working and hanging out with friends. the 10-12 i went to vernal with my sister and a couple of my aunts and cousins and stayed with my aunt janice. i had a blast! she is moving to kentucky like tomorrow so we just wanted to spend some time with her and help her pack and clean. she also cut my hair. thank you janice! i am so sad that she is moving to kentucky where i won't be able to see her for a while. she has been such a good influence in my life and i love her so much. good luck out there!
i also have gained a greater appreciation for missionaries in the past couple of weeks. my cousin brandon is in the MTC right now getting ready to go to Switzerland, my good friends older brother brandon is probably driving to the MTC as i write this to get ready to serve in Oklahoma. his farewell was this past sunday. i hadn't ever yet listened to a farewell talk given by someone who was basically my friend. Brandon is my buddy and we went on a date and stuff. so its weird. also one of my best friends, jared, is preparing very hard so that he will be ready to leave after he turns 19 in October. its crazy to see how hard Satan is working at these guys because he doesn't want them to serve.
anyway, this is a little bit of what has been going on since girls camp. enjoy the pictures of my cute little cousins morgan, kylie, cambree, also mckayla, taylor, samantha and my sister cammie. they made finger people out of taffy (gross!) and got some smudgyness on my camera lens. thanks for that. :P

girls camp.

cammie and i just got home from girls camp on the 4th of july. it was an amazing experience. i loved and hated every second of it. i spent alot of time thinking about my life and stuff. we did the challenge course which was amazing. i'm so excited to go there again for our family reunion in september. on the 3rd day, we went on these crazy hard hikes. i as a YCL was assigned to go with the 2d years on their hike. it was the longest and the hottest. it was about 5 miles. i loved it, but i gave away my water bottle so i didn't drink as much as i should have. it took us about 2 and a half to 3 hours. it was very hard. that night at dinner i all of a sudden felt really awful and 10 minutes later i was bundled up in my sweatshirt and curled in my sleeping bad shivering even though it was about 95 degrees. i kept on getting worse and worse for about 4 hours when my leader finally made the call for me to have a blessing. 20 minutes after the blessing i was not only fine, but i was pretty hyper and went out and joined in the rest of the nights activities. it made me grateful--again--for the gift of the priesthood in my life. i love it so much! besides my case of heat stroke--as was diagnosed by my leader who is also a nurse--nothing super eventful happened. i got help hostage by my bunk and body slammed into the ladder, we pulled alot of awful practical jokes, i became very very sleep deprived and talked to my wonderful leaders for hours and hours on end. i strengthened my bond with my fantastic sister even though we hardly saw each other. i grew up just a little bit more when i realized how much the younger girls are looking up to me. all in all, it was an amazing experience as camp always is, and i am already anxiously awaiting next years!

to kiss, or not to kiss

last night i came millimeters away from getting my first kiss. i know. crazy. the thing is, is that i really don't like the kid like that at all, and it was just super awkward. here is the story:
i was at my buddy colton's house watching The Eye with a bunch of my friends. my "friend" named--we'll call him Bob--came over and watched it with us. after the movie, we all played outside in the lovely warm summer night. "Bob" was acting a teeny bit weird and seemed to be plotting something with two of my other "friends". when "Bob" had to leave, he asked me to walk him to his car which was like 20 feet away from where everyone was. i thought nothing of it because i have made it very VERY clear to Bob that i don't do the whole boyfriend thing etc. so we were standing by his car and he was like "if i ask you a question would you answer it completly honestly?" and i said, "well, it depends on the question." and he said "that is not the answer i wanted to i will leave now." and i just thought to myself ok, weirdie, whatever. so then he gave me an awkward hug, and i was speculating to myself the awkwardness of the hug when all of a sudden i realized that his face was VERY close to mine, and his lips were sort of puckered. then my instints kicked in and i shoved him away and turned my head as he went in for the kill. so instead of landing on their intended target, his lips sort of brushed against my neck. (shudder). i thought he was kidding. i honestly didn't think he was serious or else i would have punched him harder than he has ever been punched before.
anyways. i thought he was kidding until he asked me if i liked him. when i told him that i like him as a friend and nothing else, he refused to believe me! he started twisting my words around until i finally just walked away. for a second i thought he was going to chase me but he left. gaaaa! it was the most random and awkward thing ever.
so that is the story of my non-kiss. i hope you enjoyed it!
